Videoconferencing is nowadays an indispensable resource for communicating at a distance. Its correct implementation requires both professional audio and video equipment and robust networks with adequate bandwidth. A room equipped for videoconferencing must include at least one codec, a camera, microphone, speakers, a screen, and be complemented with appropriate lighting and controlled ambient audio. It is vitally important that the link, whether dedicated or via the Internet, has the bandwidth required by the session. A multipoint session, for example, requires at the central point, in addition to a multipoint codec, the bandwidth supported by each of the links to the remote sites. To control feedback, the vice between microphones and speakers, it is necessary to have a feedback suppressor, generally included in a Digital Audio Processor (DSP).
